Media Advisory: Quota met, Coos Basin closes to wild coho harvest after Sept. 18

Action: The Coos Basin closes to the retention of wild (non adipose fin-clipped) coho salmon.

Nearby opportunities:  Anglers may continue to keep hatchery (adipose fin-clipped) coho and wild and hatchery chinook salmon in the Coos Basin.

In addition, the Coquille River remains open for wild and hatchery coho and chinook salmon.

Effective Date: Sept. 18, 2009 at 11:59 p.m.

Location: Coos Bay, Coos River, South Coos River, Millicoma River

Reason for Action: Catch quota of 1,000 wild coho has been reached.
