A reminder to all tidal water salmon anglers that the possession limit for all
species of salmon combined is twice the daily limit.

Areas 1 and 2
Coho: Reminder: The daily limit for coho in the tidal water portions of all streams on the Queen Charlotte Islands (Areas 1 and 2) excluding the Pallant and Braverman system is 2 coho per day. The daily limit in the tidal portions of the Pallant and Braverman system remains at 4 coho.  Listed on 21/08/2008 FN0611

Coho: Johnstone Strait Openings and Closures map (PDF)

Areas 11, 111, Subareas 12-5 to 12-48, Area 16, Area 22 (Nitinat lake), Area 23 (Barkley Sound and Alberni Inlet), Subarea 29-8 (Boundary Bay)
Sockeye: This is a reminder that in the above areas the daily limit remains at zero (0) until further notice. Listed on 25/07/2008 FN0511

Areas 12 to 15, 17 to 19, 20, 21, 24 to 27, 121, 123 to 127, 28, 29
Sockeye: Effective Wednesday, July 30, at 21:00 hours until further notice, the quota for sockeye has been varied to zero (0) in those Southern B.C. marine waters that are currently open to the retention of sockeye (Area 12, Subareas 12-1 to 12-4, Areas 13 to 15, Areas 17 to 28, Area 29 including the tidal waters of the Fraser River downstream from the CPR Bridge at Mission, B.C., Areas 111, 121 and 123 to 127). Early timed Fraser Chinook: Effective March 2 and until May 14, 2009, in Subareas 19-1 to 19-4 and Subarea 20-5 (those waters near Victoria between Cadboro Pt. to Sheringham Pt.) the daily limit is two (2) chinook salmon per day which may be wild or hatchery marked between the size limit of 45 cm and 67 cm or hatchery marked only chinook over 67 cm in length. Pink Salmon: Effective July 23, 2007 until further notice, the daily limit for pink salmon is two per day in Subareas 28-3 to 28-5 and that portion of Subarea 28-2 that lies northerly of a line from Halkett Point on Gambier Island 62° true to a boundary sign north of Alberta Bay.
