Alaska Sustainable Salmon Fund - Announcement of Calls for Proposals

February 2010: Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim Call for Proposals

The Alaska Sustainable Salmon Fund program (AKSSF) is announcing a call for proposals (CFP) for the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim Region.  Our proposal submission website (www.akssf.org) will be ready to accept proposals by February 12, 2010.  The following partial list of conditions applies to this CFP:

  • Our proposal submission website (www.akssf.org) will have instructions/forms and be ready to accept proposals on February 12, 2010.
  • Proposals must be received by 12 p.m. (noon) Alaska Standard Time on February 26, 2010. 
  • Approximately $600,000 in funds is available for salmon stock assessment and management projects.  All proposed projects must address one of the information need or actions included in the following document (PDF file* - 34 KB)AYK February 2010 Priorities.
  • No matching funds are required.
  • Projects must be completed no later than March 31, 2011.


March 2010: Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim Call for Proposals

The Alaska Sustainable Salmon Fund program (AKSSF) will open an additional call for proposals (CFP) for the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim Region in late March 2010.  The following partial list of conditions applies to this CFP:

  • Our proposal submission website (www.akssf.org) will have instructions/forms and will be ready to accept proposals by March 26, 2010.
  • Proposals must be received by 12 p.m. (noon) Alaska Daylight Time on April 16, 2010. 
  • About $500,000 in funds will be available for salmon stock assessment and management projects.
  • Projects must be completed by March 31, 2014.
  • Concurrent or prior to AKSSF funded expenditures, projects must contribute a 33% non-federal match (per Congressional requirements). 
  • Projects must contribute to the maintenance of salmon populations necessary for subsistence fishing. 

AKSSF Proposal Workshops

We encourage all potential applicants to attend a proposal workshop.

  • When: There will be two sessions on Friday, February 19, 2010. The morning session will be held from 9 – 11 a.m. and the afternoon session will be held from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
