Districts Affected: Upper Yukon River
The 2009 Yukon River fall chum salmon run is assessed to be poor. With fall chum salmon escapements in the upper Yukon River projected to be near or slightly below goals, and with the majority of fall chum salmon having passed out of the area, subsistence fishing time in Subdistricts 5A, 5B, and 5C will be opened to 7-days per week. This will provide additional opportunity to harvest non-salmon fish species for the remainder of the open water season.
Subdistricts 5A, 5B, and 5C: Beginning 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27, subsistence salmon fishing in Subdistricts 5A, 5B, and 5C will be open 7 days per week, 24 hours per day for the remainder of the season.
